Why We Are Unique

The Minding Your Mind Foundation was created to raise awareness and reduce the debilitating stigma associated with mental health disorders. We believe that collaboration is the key to reducing the stigma associated with mental health disorders and increasing prevention for at risk young adults. Minding Your Mind works with other exemplary organizations who share our mission. This approach enables our organizations to combine our respective strengths .

To date, we have developed relationships with:

  • a national middle and high school program that reduces stigma associated with suicide and depression;
  • a research department at the University of Pennsylvania that focuses on discovering evidence of specific DNA variants that increase the risk of developing bipolar and other chronic mental health disorders;
  • two on-campus peer outreach programs;
  • a college focused suicide prevention program which collaborates with university administrators; and
  • an international program that fosters independence among individuals living with mental health disorders.

Together, our organizations create a comprehensive and proactive approach to preventing, identifying, and treating mental health disorders with support, compassion, and hope.
